Noise Exposure Assessments
We have done hundreds of noise exposure assessments. These assessments are done using equipment and methods specified either in the laws of your province or in the latest version of CSA Z107.56: Measurement of noise exposure.
Our methods do not simply give you one average reading. Instead, we strive to give you the extra data you need to fully appreciate the noise status of your facility and to let you plan effective interventions. This includes:
- Average worker noise level for the full shift to compare with legal limits,
- Peak noise levels for each worker tested both overall (i.e. the highest noise that shift) and peaks throughout the shift (to help identify the sources of the peaks),
- Time-based data for worker exposures that tells you how the noise changes through-out the day. This helps you to isolate the noise sources so that the risk can be eliminated at source,
- A noise map of your facility that shows you where the noise ioriginates,
- Frequency analyses, both for each worker tested and for each location on the noise map. This data allows you to properly plan the optimal noise reduction method or, if necessary, identify the correct hearing protection.
Our sampling plans are customized to your operation to ensure you get the optimal coverage.
Having done the assessment, we can help you develop a noise management program that meets either your provincial regulations or the latest version of CSA Z1007: Hearing loss prevention program (HLPP) management.
Following up on our noise exposure assessments, we can also help you:
- create training sessions for your workers, whether they be live online, on-demand and in-person
- design new or evaluate existing noise control and reduction equipment
- develop and implement Hearing Protection Programs that meet CSA and regulatory standards.
